There’s something so special about photographing photographer’s weddings. When I first got the email from Chantelle asking me to be her wedding photographer I just about squealed. Along with the fact that Chantelle is the most adorable human on the planet, the mood board she sent me with her first email was absolutely incredible. She had such a vision for this day, and executed it so beautifully. But that’s just the details. Then I met both Chantelle + Caleb together and fell in love with their love. These two have such an infectious laughter and an excitement for life and things to come that just inspires you.
A few things you’ll notice throughout the day is Chantelle’s BEAUTIFUL bouquet, that she made HERSELF. (holy wow.) All of the incredible DIY elements. But my favorite part of the day was watching Caleb’s dad throughout the day. He’s completely deaf, so they had interpreters throughout the whole day and one of those interpreters was his wife during the ceremony. Let me just tell you, it was a beautiful picture. Then he gave one of the most touching speeches during the reception and everyone honored him by cheering in sign language. Oh, and on top of all of this, Chantelle and her dad had a secret choreographed dance planned for their first dance. Which included some of the best dance moves I’ve ever seen out of a father/daughter dance. (just check out the whip and nae-nae!!) Oh, I almost forgot, in stead of a traditional first dance – Chantelle + Caleb decided to do a ‘First Song’ and sang a duet from Phantom of the Opera to eachother, and my goodness was it beautiful. This day was full of so many surprises, and I loved every single one of them. <3 I hope you do too!!
Be on the lookout for a few hidden gems within this post — 1. The coolest grandad that has ever graced the earth (hint: he’s wearing a kilt) 2. The flower girl sneaking in a little kiss for the ring bearer. 3. James lending a groomsmen his belt!! (Not gonna lie, I laughed pretty hard during this!) 4. Cute babies everywhere stealing the show! ;) Especially during the ceremony!!
Their wedding day was truly so full of love and joy that James and I couldn’t stop smiling. Not to mention that they got married on a Monday. (ps. Monday weddings are the bessstttt!!) It was a party ya’ll, and we got to take a million and two couples portraits because of their incredible timeline. So prepare yourself for an extra long blog post at one of my favorite venues ever!!
