September 16th, 2016.
The day that Chandler + Ryan got HITCHED!! My heart is still exploding from the joy and happiness that encompassed this sweet day. It was a day filled with happy tears, floral ties, whimsical neutral colored dresses, donut walls + coffee, wicked dance moves, and ALL of the happy kisses.
We started the day at one of Chan’s bridesmaid’s ADORABLE houses, and headed over to find the most beautiful getting ready room in the history of beautiful getting ready rooms. The light was magical. Chan + her dad shared the sweetest first look, then we powered through some of the best formal portraits I’ve had the pleasure of shooting under the gorgeous oak tree at the Milestone. Ryan + Chandler chose to opt out of a first look, but do an after session that same weekend. Which made for a WHOLE hour of incredible sunset pictures of just the two of them! You’ll see them featured in the middle of the blog post, so don’t be fooled! ;) Not to mention that the sweet sweet reaction on Ryan’s face was so genuine as it was the first time he saw his bride that day as she walked down the aisle to become Mrs. Castle!!
Chandler’s dad performed the ceremony, and they chose to wash eachother’s feet during the ceremony as a symbol of humility. It was an incredibly powerful ceremony. Then we capped off the night with a pie, donut, and coffee reception filled with happy happy dancing. I could go on and on and on about how incredible this day was, but you’ll just have to see for yourself. All eighty-million images. ;) It’s a long one for sure, so enjoy!!

In case you’re interested, the flag for their backdrop was made with a quote from one of her favorite poems. Read these words, let them soak in, and then pick your jaw up off the floor. Just beautiful.
“I love you
Not only for what you are,
But for what I am
When I am with you.
I love you,
Not only for what
You have made of yourself,
But for what
You are making of me.
I love you
For the part of me
That you bring out;
I love you
For putting your hand
Into my heaped-up heart
And passing over
All the foolish, weak things
That you can’t help
Dimly seeing there,
And for drawing out
Into the light
All the beautiful belongings
That no one else had looked
Quite far enough to find
I love you because you
Are helping me to make
Of the lumber of my life
Not a tavern
But a temple.
Out of the works
Of my every day
Not a reproach
But a song.
I love you
Because you have done
More than any creed
Could have done
To make me good.
And more than any fate
Could have done
To make me happy.
You have done it
Without a touch,
Without a word,
Without a sign.
You have done it
By being yourself.
Perhaps that is what
Being a friend means,
After all.”
