Kami + Mitchell’s day was filled with so much joy. There was dancing, laughter, tears, and so much more. Walking into their wedding day was something I’ll never forget.
I met Kami while she was working as a barista at one of my go to coffee shops here in DFW and quickly fell in love with her tenacious personality and her gusto for life. Then I got to meet Mitchell and I knew that their day was going to bring my creative soul so much life.
The spring before their wedding, we all took a road trip to Marfa for their engagement pictures. The best west Texas adventure. You can find that session here. This road trip solidified our love for the Anderson’s and made their day that much more special, knowing that we were photographing good friends.
From the moment we walked in the girls were jamming out dancing around the room, acting a fool. Until of course Kami’s brother brought the in-n-out for chow time. Her girl gang was so much fun – full of so much joy! but also total babes in their white pant suits. Her cute little shoes were her something blue, all of their details were absolutely stunning. Fun fact : Kami works for Gathered Floral Design who did all of the insane florals!!
Mitchell had an amazing custom suit that fit him perfectly and looked so dapper. Their vision for their wedding party came together perfectly with the hunter green pants from ASOS and BOLO TIES the groomsmen wore. It was perfectly badass.
The moments from this day were so rich and full of so much emotion. They got married at Hickory Street Annex in Dallas. It was the perfect venue to compliment all of the design elements of this day.
One of our favorite moments was right before the ceremony when Michell was handed Kami’s gift. James kicked all the guys out of the room so Mitchell could have a minute to open the gift alone. Upon reading the letter he was already holding back the tears – then completely lost it as soon as he opened the wrapping. The gift was a book that Kami had been writing in, documenting their whole dating and engagement season together. It was filled to the brim with every memory, and so much more.
The time had come to walk down the aisle, Kami’s brother played guitar as all the family and friends walked down in preparation to see Kami in all of her bridal beauty. The moment Kami started to walk down the aisle Mitchell couldn’t help but smile and cry. (Like half the room). They read their own elegant vows to each other, then it was time to kiss the bride. Immediately after the ceremony came one of my favorite post ceremony moments. All of the emotions hit at once. So many tears were shed, so much joy was displayed as they took a moment to let everything that just happened hit them in waves. Ya’ll, it was special.
After that it was time to party, they entered to their reception through a dope elevator, and went right into some speeches and prayers by both of their parents. We ate Chinese food, toasted with Topo Chico and danced the night away. They ended the night with a rose petal exit and drove away in the coolest VW van. It was magic, and I hope you enjoy every emotion you feel as you go through this gallery.
