Moments after saying I Do, these two stood in the hallway at the end of their ceremony and just held eachother for what seemed like forever and wept. Holding onto that moment, soaking in the realness of what just happened. This is just a tiny glimpse into the emotions that encompassed this wedding day.
Let me just start with the fact that Presley and Brady have been two of the most incredible people to work with over this last year. I met Presley when she was a bridesmaid at a wedding I shot last year, and at our first meeting she told me that ever since that wedding, she knew she had to have me as her wedding photographer. Fast forward to the end of our meeting and I was feeling like a million bucks knowing that these two were the real deal. They love eachother so deeply and have such a deep desire for their love for Jesus to spill out onto everyone around them. Presley and I quickly became friends during this whole journey, and I couldn’t be more thankful for who she is.
Then we get to their engagement session and I slowly got to see all of the tiny details that made their wedding day so special. Presley actually wore her Nana’s wedding dress from the 50’s, and wore it with pride. Her Nana didn’t know that she had borrowed it, so it was an incredible surprise that meant so much for me to photograph. Then a couple of months before the wedding, we convinced Nana to wear the dress to the wedding (because she’s still just as tiny as she was when she got married!) and she wore it with pride.
These two have an incredible legacy of marriage that has gone before them was so beautiful to witness up close.
Nana wearing her wedding dress was just the tip of the iceberg, Nana is actually a hairdresser and got to do Presley and the girls hair for the wedding. (talk about precious.) Presley’s dress is from the SAME boutique that her parents bought her very first outfit at when they brought her home from the hospital. Brady’s Grandaddy officiated the ceremony, as they were cheered on by an incredible group of people in their wedding party that made up some of the best of friends.
All of the beautiful details came together so perfectly, not to mention that Firefly Gardens is one of the most beautiful venues ever. I don’t think I’ve ever shed more tears at a wedding than I have at this wedding. We entered the reception with some of the loudest cheers ever, Presley danced to ‘Blue Suede Shoes by Elvis’ with her dad as their first dance, we ate Texas BBQ, then danced the night away after Presley’s dad made a toast by opening a champagne bottle with a sword. (HE DID IT YA’LL.)
This night was full of so many memories with such great people. It was an honor to be a part of it. And to say that I love Presley and Brady would be an understatement.
I hope you feel the joy that these two share with each other and the world by looking at these images.
