//a third anniversary and a journal entry // a personal update on where i’m at

As I sit here I just keep reminding myself of how dang lucky I am to be doing what i’m doing! I am SOO beyond blessed, just constantly amazed at the position that I have been placed in, in this exact moment. There is no way that I should be where I am at my age and flourishing the way that I am!! My heart is SOO full right now I can hardly contain it. I’ve been spewing this love and happiness to everyone I come in contact with lately. Maybe a little TOO much! ;)

I just can’t even put into words how amazingly blessed I feel in this moment.

As I finished out a 4 session weekend this past weekend, with two of those sessions being two of my favorite long-time friend couples who are celebrating this new season in their lives with their engagement sessions, I am just reminded of how much of an amazing opportunity that I have. I get to play such a huge part in these couples lives and the sweet sweet love that comes with it, and for that I will be forever grateful.

I just can’t see myself any happier than in this moment right now, doing what I love and being great at it.  Even more so continuing to learn and constantly bettering myself to be the best that I can be.

I am just overwhelmed by the love and support that is being shown to me day after day. From the comments I get, to the private messages, to the emails of future clients gushing over my work. It’s soo ridiculously humbling. I walk through every day amazed that this is my life. It just feel so surreal. Like I shouldn’t be in this moment, but I am. So i’m going to use it to my fullest capacity.

The fact that SOO many people are loving what I do, and want to support me in what I do, the amount of joy and happiness that i’m feeling right now is indescribable.

I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into my work, and it’s been slowly paying off. Finally creating a brand that is ME, and recognizable has been a dream come true. Getting to work with clients who value me and my work, and all of the work that I have been putting into what I do has been amazing! Client after client, I am just blessed beyond measure. I couldn’t ask for more amazing clients. Honestly.

I’m coming up on my THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY on October 25th!!! 

I’m over here genuinely thankful for those who have supported me these past three years, whether it be from booking your family session with me, to entrusting me to capture your precious wedding day, the amount of love and trust you have all shown me can never be re-payed. I am soo grateful to each and every one of my faithful clients who have stuck with me through the bad and the good. Without fail.

So here I am, 3 years into this WONDERFUL business of mine, with ridiculously amazing clients, and soo much more ahead of me, so much more room to grow! And I plan to use up every inch of growth that I can!

So, due to me having my 3 Year Anniversary (EEEKKK!), I have decided to revisit my 2014 Goals List that I came up with at the beginning of this year and see how far i’ve come in accomplishing them!

Here were those goals! ;)

1. Reach 1500 Facebook ‘likes’ (I’m at 729 right now, it’s a big goal but I think it’s do-able with your help!!)
2.  Book at least 10 weddings i’m 3 down — 7 to go!
3. Get published in a wedding blog or magazine.
4. Create custom swag bags for my clients that are wicked awesome.
5. Invest in new equipment
6. Add more of my personal life to my Facebook Page and Blog Posts.
7. Create a REALLY awesome behind the scenes portfolio. So you all can get to know the weirdo I am.
8. Start blogging more tips and tricks! Such as helping the day go smoother, creating a better budget, finding the right vendors for you,……

1. So far I have reached  1,199 organic LIKES on Facebook!!!!!
I can’t even believe it, i’m ecstatic and honored that soo many wonderful people follow along with me on my journey!! I’m definitely well on my way to reaching my goal of 1500 by the end of the year!

2. I have officially booked TEN weddings for 2014!!!!
As of last night at 10pm, which included a wicked awesome phone consult with my 10th couple for 2014, I have now reached my goal of 10 weddings for 2014.  Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would reach this goal, but MAN. I did!!!! <3 And i’m in love with each and every one of my couples. I can’t even begin to tell you how absolutely amazing they are, and how close I have gotten with so many of them. Having the honor of calling my clients my friends has truly been an incredible journey!!!

3. I just submitted a session to my FIRST wedding blog in hopes of getting published!!!!!
Stepping out of my comfort zone in this area was extremely hard, but I did it!!!! I never had the guts to actually send in a wedding or session in fear of being rejected. But I finally did it, and even if it doesn’t get published, I made the first step!!!!<3<3 Keep any eye out!! Maybe it’ll get approved and you’ll see me officially published!!! ;)

4.  I can say with a happy heart, that I have the most ridiculously wicked awesome swag bags on the planet.
Just ask my couples! ;) It took alot of planning and creativeness, and time. Alot of time. BUT I finally got a good system down for my super fun pre-wedding swag bags, and post-wedding swag bags! :)

 5. I pride myself on working hard for what I have.
I can officially say that I now OWN all of the equipment that I need in order to not have to rent equipment for weddings any more!!!! I pride myself on being able to say that I have NO loans or payments on any of my equipment, that i’ve worked extremely hard for what I’ve got and now it’s mine!!!! <3

6. I’m BLOGGING.
This is a huge step for me. I’ve never been much of a words person, but this has pushed me to strive for more. To blog more about my life and my dreams. So I’m now at 7 personal blog posts…..I think that’s progress?? Compared to where I used to be! ;)

7. The year isn’t over yet.
I’m still workin on this one!! But I plan on having lots of action shots by the end of the year!!! ;)

and finally…

8. I’ve been working ALL summer on a 25 page informational packet to send off to my bride and grooms!
It has lots of fancy schmancy tips and tricks that are extremely valueable!!!! ;)

So there ya have it! 3 years in the making and Rachel Meagan Photography is still goin’ strong!

I’ve reached goals, and set new ones.

I’ve created a new life for myself and it’s wonderful.

I’m SOO thankful for each and every one of your support. It means the world to me, and I don’t say that lightly.
